Eat So They Can Newsletter

ESTC

Hi everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving! By the time most of you will read this, I hope you will have full tummies and happy hearts! Although we don't traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving here in New Zealand, I think it's such a wonderful idea for a holiday and the ESTC team always do our best to get into the Thanksgiving spirit!

So in honour of Thanksgiving, we'd like to use this newsletter to thank all the amazing people from every walk of life who make our Eat So They Can campaign possible. One of the things which I'm most proud about with Eat So They Can is that it really brings together people from every corner of the world and every type of background. I hope that each and everyone of you feel appreciated as you are all equally valued members of our global community.

And finally, thank you to my driving test examiner, for passing me on Thanksgiving! I finally have a driving license... and I now truly believe that anything is possible!

With gratitude,

Eliza Raymond
Executive Director

With Thanks to our Partners

The whole reason why the Eat So They Can campaign exists is to support our partner organizations. Our partners are doing amazing work but they lack the resources needed to fulfil their dreams for the women and children in their care.

Our partners come from all corners of the world, but they all have something in common. They are all doing everything they can to enable women and children to step out of poverty and reach their potential.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners for their big hearts, their hard work and their commitment to improving the lives of others.

With Thanks to our Hosts

Hosting an Eat So They Can event is fun! But we all know that it also requires a lot of time, energy and sometimes quite a few pre- party nerves! We are so grateful to every single one of our hosts for taking a stand against poverty and taking the time out of their busy lives to be a part of our campaign.

Our hosts are all people who are commited to taking action to make the world a better place. We believe that our hosts truly reflect the meaning behind GVN's favourite quote: 'You must be the change you wish to see in the world' ~ Mahatma Gandhi.

With Thanks to our Interns

I am sure that many of you communicated with Lydia, Luke and Fiona as you prepared your ESTC events this year... but what you might not have realised is that they were all interns! They all volunteered their time for six months to support our ESTC hosts and spread the word about our campaign. The invaluable donation of time that we get from our interns each year means that we can ensure that as much as possible of the funds that are raised reach our projects. So a special thank you to Lydia, Luke and Fiona!

One Day on Earth

To end this newsletter, I'd like to encourage you to watch GVN's One Day on Earth video! We had so much fun making it and realising how much actually happens during just one day. I hope it inspires you to make each day count! Check it out here.
